Weber Performer Table Question
« on: February 02, 2016, 05:30:26 PM »
I have a 2010 Weber Performer with the plastic table. Does anyone know if they are resistant to high heat?  As in, could I take my cast iron skillet out of the fire and put it directly on the table without melting/deforming the table?

There is a tiny mark on my OTP table (same material) where a tiny ember fell out of the chimney. I mean a crumb, that went out in seconds.
Still need a 22” yellow

@tb80 I had one that I bought and had a big burn mark on it. When I asked the owner said they I took my cast iron skillet out of the fire and put it directly on the table! Don't do it :(
Wife said "No more GRILLS in this house!" So I bought a 2nd house!

@tb80   Many Garage Sales have used trivet's for sale fairly cheap.  Could save you some money.  I use one on my wooden table when I cook outdoors to save the teak.                  SJ

The rack is a good solution...

I wouldnt leave ci oven or skillet on it too long given the heat will transfer to the rack if it sits and then melt/mark the plastic table

I have the new metal table and don't think I would even put anything too hot on it. Not sure what it's rated at. It's just too pretty to risk.

I put a full hot chimney on my SS top once and it made the SS yellow a little bit as well as warp.  It cleaned up and the warping seems to have gone away, but I would not advise putting anything hot off of the grill on your Performer table.  I have hot pads that stay in my charcoal bin so they are always right there when needed.

The paint on the new metal tables will mark and ahine will fade with food drip droppings...

Its a good idea ...but the new model shouldve come with ss table even if it caused the price to increase
