Very cool grab..its extra cool as I thought 84 was the first year for the one touch...makes it even cooler!!

Got to work on the handles and get the kettle cleaned up a little bit tonight. Gotta get the legs and triangle looking good, ran out of daylight. Original ash sweep is cleaned and re-installed. I do think I'm gonna love this kettle!
And in the spirit of the season....

The handle looks to be in really good shape as it sits.  What are you looking to do to it?

firedude5015

Already did it...cleaned them with steel wool and applied 2 coats of satin poly. The wording was pretty faded on the original lid handle so i put it on the back of the bowl and used the one from there on the lid.

Gotcha, I read your post wrong.  They look great, big fan of "The one, The only" sets

That is one AWESOME black!! One of the few '83's that still have the "One The Only" handles on them. By the end of that year the handles were changed to just say Weber and the two lines/bars. That is badass!!

Yes whitewalls are in perfect shape.  Original owner, purchased brand new. Even got a full bag of KBB and a bottle of lighter fluid  (hehe). He bought an Egg and sold the kettle, poor soul. I probably paid too much but down here the market is scarce.  $50 was a deal for me. Clean up starts Tuesday!

Did it break your bank? I'm sure it didn't, so $50 is not a bad deal. The ash pan & good wheels are worth the price of admission alone. Have fun cleaning her up. I would have to imagine the market sucks being so close to the Gulf. I take it for granted, living in the Weber laden Midwest.

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn't?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I've amassed a nice collection, but I'm missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞

firedude5015

Finally got it cleaned up. Couple rough spots on triangle and I'm gonna soak the grates, but it's all original and pretty cool!

That is gorgeous!   Nicely done.   Treat her well, and she'll be around for a long time ....
