Any chance we can find out who owned this and get the story? Would the shop owner know them? Delicate topic though - you don't want to mention value at all. This one is begging for a full pro photo shoot. Gummi - grab your camera and get over there! @ceaves don't discard anything. Don't even touch it yet. This survivor needs to be recorded properly in it's current state before it gets all glammed up.

OK - I'm done now...

I wouldn't even entertain offers until this thing is documented and publicized.

That's a unique find for sure! This is the second blank lid vent we've seen? (The sky blue 18 being the other). A white custom with black squigglies. The sockets are later than 1956 since the have the familiar "feet" to them as opposed to the early "plain cylinder" shaped welded sockets. The rounded corner utility shelf (after 1956 but before 1961) but with the older red wheels it appears. They changed to white wheels by 1957-58ish. This isn't your run of the mill Chicago or Wood Dale kettle (I can't believe I just said that! [emoji50] ) Like Harris said its a "custom custom" [emoji2] Lets get as many high quality photos of this grill as possible for the gallery. Inside and out. Head to toe. Hopefully we can get some backstory on this one.

I will try to find out what I can from the person I bought it from.

I'll get my daughters good camera and take lots of pictures of the grill in better lighting.

Don't forget to photograph the underbelly of the pan/triangle. We need to see how it is attached to the front leg. Try to minimize the background distractions. Here's a suggestion for the types of shots:

Front view from straight on. Position the lid with the vent facing the front leg. Keep the lid seam as horizontal as possible.
Same view of both sides and back.
Top view of lid from directly above. You can set the lid alone on a neutral backdrop or even the lawn.
Bottom view of the bowl from directly above.
Detail shots of the following:
   Grates
   Dampers
   Lid hook
   Wheels
   Triangle pan
   Handles
Overall beauty shots. Check the gallery to see some good examples. Sunset photos are especially nice and the light at that time of day is great.
Last but not least, take a pic of you with the grill. Always nice to see a happy Weber fan, and Weber itself may post it on their page!

Enjoy! I know we will!

HK talked about this color and called them "experiments". He mentioned one grill that a fellow employee took home so I'm speculating this is another.

I asked the lady I bought it from, she said she had bought it at an auction somewhere so she couldn't help with any history.

I am interested in selling this grill.  I will work on getting more pictures and post them as soon as I can.

I'm in Iowa Park, TX
