Nice grab, i love cheap finds! A broomstick and a little persuasion and you can straighten that leg right out.

Yup... Out with the old and in with the new=kettle head feeding frenzy. Hopefully.. Hope it's not a dud kettle collector season here in north texas.

There's a wsm on the west side of DFW. You might be able to sweet talk bobcat to check into it for you.  Unless it's in his garage already.

Look for a broomstick (preferably wooden) slightly smaller in diameter than the inside of the leg. Push the round end into the leg to the bend (take the leg off the grill first) and slowly bend it back close to its original lines. Once it is somewhat straight, you can force the broomstick through to help "round" it back out. It won't be perfect, but its worth a shot imo -- worst thing that could happen is the leg snaps in two and then you will need a new leg...

So I started looking online, and called Weber today to attempt to order a new front leg. The lady wasn't very helpful, so I may call back and try again. I told her that I needed just the one leg and it was for a 22.5 for an OTG. She first told me they only came as a kit and it's around 26.00. I told her of another part number that was just the one leg and that one leg is about 16.00. I just didn't have the confidence that I was going to end up with the right part so I said I would call back. She wasn't sure if the leg would come with the black cap or not either. I hung up frustrated.

As it stands, I need the leg and leg cap. I also need a hinged cooking grate because the current one is quite thin in certain areas. I think I might just get another charcoal charcoal grate while I am at it.

Any tips or part numbers from the experts?

No, but a can of brake cleaner, a little elbow grease and some steel wool should take care of that. Nice score. Black is beautiful.  :)
