Faded Black Question
« on: April 16, 2014, 01:17:13 AM »
What do you guys make of this? The whole kettle is faded black except for this area around the edge of the lid. The only thing I did to it was 0000 steel wool on the entire outside of the kettle. I just found it strange that edge not being faded like the rest of the kettle. Any thoughts on this?

The fades come of long, long time exposure to sunlight most always I would think........

This one might have been exposed from the side with some kind of covering over the top so the light didn't strike straight down....................against a bright wall, under an overhang perhaps ?

Best Guess............ 8) :o 8)

It's possible that a thick layer or dirt built up on the flat lip protecting it from the sun. Short of that I don't know.
