Dropped right in. Had to drill holes in the bowl but who cares. It's a cooker and no more wobbly leg. Now I just have to figure out the lid holder part.

That's pretty cool! Did you move the OTP kettle to the 26.75" legs? I'm sure you'll figure the lid holder out.

Reposition the lid bale to the back so the lid lifts up from the front and pushes straight back just like a Ranch Kettle lid does. When the lid is in the open position, it will be sitting in the back between the two tables - just like the original One touch Platinum lid did.

You might have to cut the back corners out of each of the those side tables to give the lid enough clearance to swing back in place. Also, you may have to add a handle to the front, down low to allow you to lift, raise, and push the lid back.

Personally, I think Weber ought to mount the 26 on a four wheel cart just like the current Performer Silver model and have a swing up/fold down table in front of it. I wonder if there is anyway to alter a Performer Silver cart to accept a 26 kettle?

This is the original Weber kettle. The most powerful bbq grill in the world and can blow your taste-buds clean off! So, you have to ask yourself one question: "Do you feel hungry? Well, do you punk?"

Thats funny........I was just staring at my 26er and OTP on Saturday and thinking about doing the exact same thing.  The only thing that held me up was that my OTP was a birthday present from the wife, so I kinda don't want to start chopping it up.  The other thing I wanted to do was remove one of the side tables and replace it with a side burner assembly to fire my chimney

Nice work

Shopper's Supply in Chandler has at least 3 brand new AA code OTPs on display. Not sure about their other locations.

While not exactly the same as this was a custom built job, it's similar.

I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!

I have had the pleasure of meeting Gary S ... In fact he gave me the legs and triangle from this, as they were not being used.  :) :)

Sorry Brian, Shoppers is a general merchandise retailer in Iowa and Arizona. http://www.shoppersfarmstore.com/main.php

The Chandler AZ store just opened last fall, but is stocked with brand new AA vent code (2011) Webers. Including two or three One Touch Platinums. I know that they were not all black, but I don't recall what colors they were. They may have a warehouse full of them at their Iowa headquarters...
I can investigate the AZ stores further if anyone is interested...
