This is me and my first job, age 6 (1986).  Cleaning kettles every Saturday over the summers for 50 cents each at my family's resort, Knotty Pine, Lake of the Ozarks Missouri. We had 13 cabins that were each equipped with a Weber grill. 18.5" kettles for the single bedroom cabins and 22.5" kettles for the larger units. I carried a bucket for ashes, a wire brush, a rag, and a can of wizard lighter fluid I used to wipe down the outside (I was 6 🤷‍♂️)

Cool throwback story!

Does your family still own the Knotty Pine?

Thanks for sharing.

That's pretty neat.... I had to google it, looks to be a new owner in 2012.  You certainly learned early how to clean a Weber!  Do you still enjoy cleaning your Webers, or do you dump the ashes and grill on?  Cleaning them is my least favorite thing to do - grill related - but I can't seem to tolerate a dirty grill for whatever reason.

Thanks for sharing.....
