The vent position as seen on Zorks '56 Chicago, one of Harris' '58 Wood Dales and the one in the cooking show picture are how the vents were positioned on the 22's until around 1960-62 or so. Then they moved the vent to the side of the handle like it is today. Weber's FB page dates this pic as 1968, but why would Weber have used a then 10-11 year old kettle on a cooking show... Not to mention the woman is dressed very 50s even for 1968.. I think someone typo'd the year.


Edit: TV camera says WCCO... A Twin Cities area CBS affiliate. I wanted to figure out where the picture was taken.

Just checked FB, and they say it's from 58. Where did you see 68?

Ah... They corrected it then. Back when I saved the photo to my computer last year it was dated '68. 1958 makes much more sense.
