What is this?
« on: June 06, 2018, 03:47:30 PM »
Hey all.  A customer gave me this kettle today.  I'm not sure what exactly is going on.  The lid is a P code Weber.  The bowl has Happy Cooker handles bolted to the bowl, but it could have been a repair.  The daisy wheels don't have Ps on them. The leg sockets have big holes in them.  And the wheels are obviously not Weber.  I'm thinking its a Happy Cooker kettle with a Weber lid, but having never dealt with a HC, I don't really know.  Any ideas?

Looks like a Weber lid on a happy cooker base. Are the legs aluminum or steel? Some HC’s had steel legs and those sockets.
"Have you hugged your Weber today?"

They are pretty rusty so I'm guessing steel.

That’s exactly what you have there.  The wheels are neither Weber, nor HC though.  The pushnut is Weber.

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn’t?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I’ve amassed a nice collection, but I’m missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞

Thanks guys!  I have a frankengrill.  Made from the parts of other dead grills.  I'll get the kettle cleaned up a bit, reattach the legs, and use it as a tomato planter on the cabin deck. I need to find another junker for cucumbers.

Do planters require wheels, cuz I’m intrigued by those?  Looking again, it appears to be a larger HC pushnut.

@brewtownbeatdown, one wheel is in good shape.  The other has seen better days. I have other wheels.  Let me know if you're interested.

Picked one up the other day with the same wheels. First thing I thought is they looked like Happy Craigars.

You can't always get what you want....but if you try sometimes you get what you need

Almost looks like an old Crager SS wheel from the 70's I know I'm old
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

We had a 79 Impala with those wheels.  Lets see...that was mid 80’s, which made me 10(ish).  I know you got me beat by a a FEW years, so...
