KETTLE ONE TOUCH CLEANING SYSTEM - LEVER ROD

Hi all, just after some advice. Pretty sure the system was first  introduced in 83, but can anyone shed any light on whether or not the lever rod has always had a loop in the end, or if not, when this was introduced?

Always had a "loop" the loop handle profile did change with another bend in the rod  and a more oval look in the handle
