Grack.
Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.

I'm hedging my bets. It's a faded grey.

I say gray.  I have a weathered black and the sun fades the lid faster than the bowl.

Not always. Depends on what type of surface it is stored on and how much direct light it sees/is reflected onto it.

If they sit on a deck or soil, the lid usually fades differently than the bowl. If it spends its life on concrete or asphalt, the bowl has a tendency to fade the same.

That said...this kettle is very even top to bottom. Even the lid handle straps have the same color.

I’m actually leaning toward what @darko said...a faded gray.

Speaking of faded there’s an old beauty on Craigslist in Worcester MA. It’s part of a yard sale with multiple other metal yards type nick-nacks. It looks to be MBH faded black with ash catcher and all. 100$ for all of it. Posted on 1/27. Sorry I couldn’t post a pic. Not that savvy yet.
