Wheel question
« on: May 01, 2013, 06:09:27 AM »
Did Weber ever put plain whitewalls on a plastic wheel? I saw a pair the other day that had the same kind of snap on whitewall that has the Weber name cut out in it but these didn't have the cut out. In other words they looked just like a 90's Performer wheel but without 'Weber' being cut out. (I know, I know, why didn't I get a pic?)

I think these wheels on my '69 Cado are actually plastic:

The first all plastic (including treads) with a plain whitewall were around on the Webers from about '73-'76. The early plastic wheels had rubber treads like javahogs kettle.
