the guys I used to work with used to constantly razz me about my handyman tales of blunder.
When I reached for the painters tape, I could feel their grins widening.

I have a beater red that needs leg sockets and grate tabs repaired.  I'm gonna use the same method. Blue tape and all.

While you are indeed, uh...ok, lame with the tools, the job was well done. Congratulations. You do seem to make very self deprecating videos. I guess it shows your inner strength? ¿Quien es mas macho?

And I do think that you ended up with the right configuration with the bolts. Whatever is inside the kettle will degrade from cooking, and with the nuts inside you can just grab them with pliers.

Bolt heads inside would be tougher if you needed to remove them - pliers slip off, screwdriver won't catch. Engage Dremel and risk the porcelain.
