I bought my chimney starter over 10 years ago and have worked it hard.  It has been left out in rain on occasion by mistake and it still is going strong.  How long have you had your chimney starter and have you ever needed to replace it?

Geezer

The first chimney I ever had (not a Weber) got left out in the weather a lot and only lasted a couple of years.  My current one (a Weber)  has been kept inside since I got it and is still going strong after 5 years.  I also have a no name chimney that I got with a used kettle is still in very good condition.  Sometimes I use both to get 2 kettles up and running.
Take care of your chimney and it'll last a long time.

AZ Monsoon

2005 for me and still looks good. I'm in AZ though

Mine's been going for over 6 years.  It's been left out in the elements, dropped and mishandled...still works great.

I've had mine for three years now and there's nothing wrong with it.
Looking for colored 18's and SJ's.

The Guy

A little over a year. The shape is a little off because it blew up on the concrete path behind my house but otherwise it's fine.  Don't light them on concrete

i think both of mine are 10+ years old, with the last 3 being in sunny california

I think I'm my third one in probably 10-12 years, they used to always have to stay out in the elements though. My latest gets moved inside when cool and it's holding up well

My first one is 10 years old. It's been left in the elements the entire time. About 8 years in, it started rusting through in spots but still usable. 9 years in and it busted the top rivet. I bolted it and still use it. I bought a new one a couple years ago but still use both.  Best $14.99 you can spend.

I'm in Indiana so the weather hasn't been good to it.

I still harbor some guilt and regret leaving them in the elements but not enough to do anything about it.
