Does the bolt get hot? I use a black handle on mine.  Must admit I haven't fired up the SJ in a while

Use a longer bolt.

I purchased 5 of those handle (got 10) and this is what it looks like.



I took the bolt that I had and reversed it.  I love it so much better.  Thanks for the recommendation.

Looks awesome! Your thread got me thinking about my long neglected SJ so I took it out of mothballs for lunch at the dock.   I forgot how fun and economical it can be to cook for one or two people.   Used just over a third if a chimney of charcoal to do up some ABTs and sausages and damped it right down after with a decent amount of those coals left over.
