Is it just my imagination or does it seem there are more pictures of K Code (1988) Webers posted on the forum than any other production year?  It needed three handles and a new ash sweep assembly but for $7 how could I not pick it up.

Funny thing was the seller had 3 Weber kettles for sale, each $7.  The lead picture on the add was a faded black MBH. This redhead was buried in the thumbnail photos.  When the add was first posted, I passed on it because it was about a 50 mile drive with a $5 bridge toll.  After over a week of seeing the add still posted on CL, I could't stand it and called the seller.  All three were still available.  So I scheduled a Saturday pick up and justified the drive by having lunch with Mrs. cellar2ful at one of our favorite wine country restaurants. I ended up with 2 of the kettles the seller had. The third kettle was a three wood that had holes in the bowl and leg sockets secured with bolts. The faded black MBH I bought mainly for the flat edge twist on ash pan. The bowl had rust holes in it and all three leg sockets had rusted off and were reattached with bolts. The lid is in decent shape though.  I may try to make a pizza lid out of it with a cut out. The bowl will end up being another succulent planter.  The wife said the lunch was fantastic BTW.   ;)

That's pretty cool an upside down K code. I wonder if it was the work of an unhappy employee then.
