Pot for Mini WSM Build
« on: August 21, 2016, 12:29:40 PM »
As some of you know, the Vasconia 32 quart tamale pot was the preferred pot for the Mini.
These are no longer available.

A local store here, Bimart, sells the Hoffritz 32 quart and I can confirm that it fits the
Smoky Joe perfectly !
SJ lid-to-pot fitment is like OEM.
Even the pot lid fits the SJ bowl if you want to use that build method.
The SJ cooking grate nests smartly on the steamer indent as well.

Maybe you can find the Hoffritz in your neighborhood.

Nice find.  Any idea if the pot will rest inside of the lip on the lid with the lid handle removed?
Wanted: Burgundy 18"

The handle on the Hoffritz lid is riveted on and I haven't removed it yet.
However, Dirtsailor on another forum builds with the "pot lid method" and here is a pic of his "stacker".
The bottom pot is a Vasconia and the top is the Hoffritz...
(the edges of the pot lids can be seen under each pot)

Did the Hoff Ritz have to be crimped  or the lid fit perfectly?
Wife said I better not get another grill or she'll leave me. I sure am gonna miss her. 🃏

From Post #1...

"SJ lid-to-pot fitment is like OEM."

So translated, that means that it was like the pot was made for the SJ lid.

No monkey-fukkin around crimpin' anything.
It just fit.
