For me the 2015 WKC eCook was a great event and it only got better after it was over... I actually won something! It was the glaze on an already delicious rack of ribs (that's the grilling version of icing on the cake).
Thanks to @pbe gummi bear I am the proud owner of new Curly Koa wood handles and some WKC stickers!
This is my 26 all dressed up and looking right -
I did however have to make a slight mod to the kettle handles as well as the wood handles themselves.
I drilled matching 1/4" holes 1 1/2" from center and inserted wooden dowels that kept the top half of the wood handles from spinning freely. This was done to both kettle handles and to the lower/back of the wooden handle. For the depth of the hole on the wooden handle I just eyed it but its about 1/8" or less.
In some kettle models there are small metal tabs that stick up into the upper portion of the wood handle - there's pre-drilled holes already in the handle for them which is perfect. But in all cases where the metal tabs are not present a mod like this has to be done.
I love how they look and they will be the first of many for my kettles. Thanks again to @SixZeroFour and PBE for making this happen.
Cheers -
