If we could produce a lid we could make them. The one thing they did differently on those newer ones is they added three bottom vents where the original only had one.

I will still never forgive myself for passing on an original for $10!  :'(

I'm guessing that you can't do a turkey or a large roast on a pre 1956 kettle?  ??? Inquiring minds want to know. I'd love to see more pics of the proto-lid kettles with the more familiar leg set up. They did exist.
