Hi,

I want to show you a handle I restored with some Vintage look. The Problem was the lower quality 90ies handle combined with black dirt of (I think) very much grabbing with coaly gloves.
I couldn't grind very much not to loose the lettering.

This is what came out. Sealed with plenty layers of Owatrol Oil:

Good enough for me
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Clean but with patina is nice.

Far better than “Glass-reinforced nylon” or some such nonsense.

Nice I like it.
A trick used by shooters for wood gun-stocks might work too.
Clean with "Murphy's Oil Soap", just follow the instructions & scrub well with a mild scrubbing pad like the "non scratch ScotchBrite"
& reoil with a few light coats (NOT one big thick one) of well rubbed in Linseed oil.

Looks better than what I did. I did a decent sanding job everywhere but the Weber lettering.  After that I tung oiled it really good.  You did a good thing!   You done good!

Here's the whole grill this evening. And yes I agree, a bad wood handle is better than a bad plastic.
Ist's always a struggle with this last wood handles.
