I opened the lid afew times. I prefer the original unhinged lid. Hinged lid felt "very light" cause the lid itself is not so heavy. The heat deflector was cool and the 2 inch ring was cool.

I would say it's great for someone who does not own any Weber Charcoal grill and accessories. I already have all this stuff in higher build quality. Nice to see them out for sale though. Just not intriguing enough for me to say anyone needs it unless your getting into charcoal and have nothing starting out.

I like it except for the top vent placement. I don't need another kettle but I would buy one of these on sale!

Is the ring really only two inches?

Maybe 3" but no more. For reference I have a WSM 18 and this ring was maybe a 1/3 of that at best. It was a cool ring. I would buy the ring and heat shield for $40 to add another toy to the collection.

I've seen these as well at Costco.  I like the look and would appreciate the accessories if I didn't have a ton of cooking choices already.  I agree, the lid seems lightweight with the sprung hinge.  Maybe it's standard weight, but almost seems flimsy compared to my Glen Blue 26" lid which is almost a chore to lift.  Would be interesting to see a Weber 26" offering with a proper hinge.  If it had that and was yellow I'd buy the damn thing.

transit98 pretty much summed it up perfectly!

I ordered the ring and plate from Weber yesterday afternoon.

Diffuser plate, Master-Touch   67571
Charcoal chamber, black   67587

I've wanted that diffuser plate ever since this model was announced but always read they won't sell them. Figured I'd give it a shot yesterday and lucked out. I've looked around and have not come across a diffuser plate that is as well made as the Weber version.

If you decide to call it in, ask for a discount. They are able to provide one when asked.

Weber is discontinuing that model of Master Touch in the US. The lid doesn't seal properly. Hence the Costco liquidation.

It would be nice for someone just getting started.
I've bought most of that in one form or another.

How much did it run you?

Product Name   Part #   Qty   Price      Item Total
Diffuser plate, Master-Touch   67571   1   $90.69
Charcoal chamber, black   67587   1   $33.02

These are their listed retail prices. YMMV.

I saw it as well, hard pass for me.  Not a great concept from weber on this one.
I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.

Yeah I called about the plate - never thought it would be over 50$ - Think I'll use what I have but it does look cool.
