Has anybody ever gotten this piece to come apart? Is it threaded? Is it pressed in there? Is there any way to get this Bottom piece? It is just left over ,

What it is, is toast.
New sweeps are cheap enough not to worry about it.
The center unit comes with them.

Yeah but you do not want to put a new one on an old one and I  have tons of extra parts and I just built one maybe two out of

Cool. I'm sure a vintage correct set of sweeps will pop up here shortly.
I'm usually not that concerned about period correct parts.
As long as it performs I'm good.

None of ours are that worthy.
Ok not true.

Upon further thinking a NIB 89 one touch ( birth year for our son)
And a NIB Simpsons SJ are the exceptions.
