Looks like brick red to my eyes as well. It's essentially a gloss finished version of the crimson color [emoji106]

@DrewZ   Your pic looks like it was taken on an overcast day (did I say "overcast", that's one of my favorite brews: Oakshire Overcast Espresso Stout, yummmm).  Please take another on a sunny day, same location, etc.  I'm beginning to question my own color sanity ;D  :)

Nice SSP. That's the next color to find for my collection. Beautiful.

@mhiszem that looks like burgundy to me , but I guess it’s all here say on the actual colours until we see some proof. Like catalogues or boxes

Yeah, I would be curious to see the catalogs back then or what the item number descriptions are.

@Winz Did you come across any catalogs that call out the colors when you did your performer or smokey joe history?

I still say Plum right up there.

And this being the Internet, I can never be wrong, which comes in handy.

It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

We have a rather extensive database of the SJ model numbers/colors/logos, but no mention of plum/burgundy.... so far....

Been doing some research with RR, here's some info from catalogues dated 1994-2002. No mention of Plum or brick red and only maroon is in the gas BBQ range. Interesting brown is called brown and not chocolate
1996 not listed
1995 not listed
1994 Brown

1998 Maroon
1997 Maroon

1999  not listed
2000  burgundy
2001  burgundy
2002 not listed

Thank You  Hogsy, RR & Addicted 2 Smoke  ...  a very interesting cruise down technicolor lane.  I still need to see the SSP listings for colors to find my EO-codes "true" nomenclature. :)
