When did Weber change to the dark gray handles?

I'm wondering when they changed from the whitish colored handles to the gray handles the use now.

I've been wondering because I've seen some folks saying their grills for sale are only a year or 2 old with white handles.....

G nailed it. The dark grey handles did first appear on the Performer's in 2010 and then the 26"er kettles in 2011, then the regular kettles and the rest of the Weber charcoal family got the dark grey handles for late '11-early '12. Probably to be consistant since there were 2 and then 3 different handle styles for different models. As the plastic handles go, the new style dark ones are growing on me. I wasn't a fan of the 2000-11 handles. But at the end of the day nothing beats wood handles!  ;)
Strangely enough, the full size chimney's still have the basic flat top white-grey handles.

The woods are definitly best, but I don't hate the dark grays except that they are hollow. What's next weber? Wanna start making grills out of heat resistant plastic? ::)
