dumpster diving
« on: August 05, 2015, 09:05:54 AM »
I was walking my dog yesteday and one of my neighbors was moving out of their house and threw all the unwated stuff in the dumpster. The flatbed was running right next to it and the guy was about to strap it up to take to the dump. I look over and notice a bowl looking thing popping out of the top.

Lo' and behold, I was able to pull most of a patent pending cado from the heap, even the metal wheels. The ashpan grates, and front leg were gone, or was deep in the pile. I wasn't able to dig any deeper as they guy needed to get back to hauling it away and I needed to get to work. It was only about 8 houses away so I just carried it home.

My wife was not amused. I like the metal wheels. Maybe I'll toss them on one of my 18" kettles. Anyone want a 'cado?

Dude that's about as RRR as it gets, digging that thing out the dumpster like that. Someone  should take that poor Cado and make something out of it .

This one is a little rough so it's probably not worth the shipping fees to AUS.

Pretty amazing when you think about it....not only did it just happen that they threw it on top of the fully loaded junk heap....but what are the odds that a guy that eats, sleeps and breathes kettles like Gummi comes walking by it before they pick up and unload the dumpster???! Its like some people say....your thoughts can manifest your reality.
SMOKE THIS!!

someday we'll hear of a guy finding a ranger laying by the side of the road in some bushes and this 'Cado won't seem like diddly squat.

far fetched but mark my words, it's gonna happen.  ;-)

congrats Lawrence!  (and whoever gets it)

we should start calling you the "kettle whisperer".   ;D
I only use kettles with lid bales.
