Here's a quick comparison of the Weber 80728 stainless grate and the Grill Care 17436 stainless grate.

I purchased the Weber grate directly from Weber in January 2014 for $50.80 + $7.00 s&h. The Grill Care grate was purchased from Amazon  in March 2015 for $29.99 with free 2 day Prime shipping.

I don't have a pic, but the Weber grate was shipped in a box made specifically for a grate. Amazon shipped the grate in a 22.5" x 13.5" x 36" box!!!

Here they are side by side.

Weber left, Grill Care right.

Grill Care states they are thicker than the Weber grates. They must be comparing them to the standard grates because the Weber stainless grates are thicker. I do not have any clean standard grates to compare them to.

From your images, the Grill Care also seems to be less uniform with its lengths of bars. Is there much flex with it?
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

I think it's my camera phone skewing the pictures along with Photobucket compressing the pics. It's pretty sturdy but I'll check the flex when I get home.

Youll love the SS grates.

Dont forget the Jiffy lube to season your virgin grate.

Educate this newb. The one you buy in the store is plated? This one is easier to clean? No rust? Take it they stopped making this if it was $50

I would love either the gourmet grate or the stainless steel ones from Weber but both are kind of pricy, I'm interested to hear how you like cooking on these grill care ones.  Might be a cheaper alternative.
