I was bored the other day so I decided to design a new drip tray to work with charcoal baskets
It also fits on the cooking grate of an 18 to use as a roasting tray

I'm always running out of room for vegies when I'm cooking a roast, I normally try and squeeze two trays onto the top grate but they never sit right
This should work great

More pics to come this weekend when I try them out
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

It may not be too late, but some rod bent into a D shape would make perfect lifting handles.
If it breathes, we can cook it!

Top work mate! I may have to put in an order.

Those are beuatiful Hogsy.  Put those into production, Ill be your first order.  How about a round griddle with sides for the kettle, various sized diffusers, rings.....I need to learn how to weld.

Part of the brilliance is that it is one piece right?  I mean the dimensions allow this to be a bottom rack drip pan and top rack roaster for an 18.

Whoa! ... I really like that. Nice work, Hogsy!

Is that all SS?  Flat bar and sheet metal?  What gauge sheet metal is that?  Thanks.  :D

Hogsy, I love this piece. I've had similar ideas but don't have the skill. Is is easier for you to weld that long seam than to bend up two short flaps?

That's not easy to do without the proper tool.
However, a machine shop could do it lickety-split.  The curved parts would be very difficult to do.

I've clearly been binging on too much Breaking Bad, but here is my plan:

Rather than have everyone pay tons of shipping to get these things from Australia, we instead smuggle Hogsy into the States and set him up in an underground 'Super Weber Lab' in the New Mexico dessert.  It'll have a top-flight welding shop and plenty of state-of-the-art ventilation for long charcoal cooks.  There, Mr. Hog will crank out drip/roast pans, charcoal baskets, SS rotis rings, and other after-market wonders.  He will charge a premium for his perfection, and all of us will happily make him rich.
