I'm always looking for something different that the Wife and family might like to eat....my Wife has loved this stuff for as long as I have known her but only ever ate it when it was bought at a place that sold it pre-made. I saw a video of Chef Michael Symon making some and thought "What the hell?" it looked easy ....and it was! If you have never had it before it is basically ....layers of Phyllo dough topped with butter and nuts, topped with more butter and more nuts and on and on. After it is baked you cover the whole thing with (Still warm) sauce made up of sugar , honey, vanilla and lemon zest.( The zest is optional but friggin' GOOD!). You pour on the still warm sauce on the Baklava while it is still hot-right out of the oven(Kettle!!) and let it sit for up to six hours to cool, or at least until it has cooled completely....if it sits longer you give the sauce a chance to ooze it's way all the way through. My Wife loved it and was really digging the lemon zest I added....she never had any that had it in it before.
