I was at Lowes last night and they are selling copper colored OTG and copper colored Performers. Guess the new line for the year is out.
I've saw one of the Copper OTG's at the local Lowe's as well,, not sure I like the matte finish myself..
I always expect a beautiful glossy finish when I think of new Weber kettles..
Yes, the finish on the ones at Lowes is not as nice as my older copper kettle.
Yes, I totally agree with everyone here. Weber really messed up when they switched to the dull, matte finish. When they first announced this color, I thought it would be like the previous version sold thru Target stores. I shouldn't say this, but I will: I hope no one buys these in the hopes that Weber will quickly get the point and go back to a glossy shine finish.
I'll be the guy to say it.....I dig the matte color. Kinda wish they put it on the black kettles for the rat rod kettle look. The dull copper is kinda cool. Maybe weber could bring back shiny copper and do the dull black.

Thanks for posting the pics of the Crimson. I was planning on ordering a Crimson Performer Platinum through Ace Hardware, but was having a hard time doing so without seeing one first. I also just saw that Nebraska Furniture Mart in KC has them in stock. I guess I'll be making an hour drive in the near future.

The picture of the copper looks a lot shinier than the one at my lowes. Maybe it was a crappy job, or maybe they never wiped it down? Good to see the others are better. The crimson looks good too. I dont have that color, hummm....

Usually not too, too opinionated on this kinda stuff, but the cart that Copper's in looks sort of....how you say.....yukky?
Despite the pictures, the red was somewhat duller than the usual finish. I'm not gonna sit here and poo poo new colors from Weber. Everyone cries that they can't get the European colors, so Weber gives us our own and people aren't happy. I thought that Copper performer looked awesome, I wish I had one! This one is dull, is it crappy?

I have to say it was pretty tough to leave that red one at the ACE....
The colors that Weber is giving us are great, no problem there. It's the finish on those colors we're all unhappy with.
I bought a copper and was unhappy with the finish and it was chipped. The finish looked like it was covered in overspray. I took it back and got a blue.

Jeff - I gave them the weber copper performer part number, which I believe is unique to the perfomer. On the schematic, it shows the gas assist hole. My assumption is that it will be the correct part.
I am going to clean up the SS performer cart that I modified (Extenze post), so it will be nice and shiny when the new bowl/lid/bale show up. Will snap some pictures when it is all together.

You know they make the Performer with gas assist, AND without correct? The model Performer without gas assist obviously won't have the hole for the burner. I'd hate to see the wrong bowl show up. Probably wouldn't hurt to double check that if you haven't already.

Yep. The performer platinum has gas assist - the gold and silver performers do not. I ordered the platinum bowl which has the gas assist capability.

I can't wait to see the pics either. My first thought upon hearing the news of the copper performer was to score one and place the bowl in an SS as I think it'll look freakin' fantastic, but I've since decided to focus on getting a 26er first. Your photos will carry me through for a bit!
