Sooooo one thing led to another and a few Grillfellas met up today in the Bay Area. We hung out at a Starbucks, traded stories, ogled some Zavod handles, and took over a parking lot for a bit. Sorry to those that missed it as it was pretty last minute. Kako5256 had to pick up some stuff from Duke and Argentflame, and Salad had to pick something up from Duke so I hitched a ride to hang out.
HeyJude had nothing better to do so he showed up too. AJ came late. He hobbled over with his walker.

This guy pulled into the parking lot, saw Duke's shirt, and asked what Weber Kettle Club was...... and it was all downhill from there. He started telling us about how he rescued a kettle with a table but the igniter didn't work. He also said he would check out the site! He also got AJ's digits before he left. lol

Love it! And the weather out there looks to be, what, a hundred degrees better than many of us are feeling right now? Thanks for giving us all a little vacation. I only wish I had been there, but my trip to the Bay Area isn't until next weekend.

I was probably 55F out this morning. Some braved it in shirts, and some bundled up. LOL
55F, I'd kill for that right now...a foot of snow down and maybe another foot on the way. -14F for a high come Monday.

A special thanks to Kako for putting it together and Gummi for making it a real sanctioned meet. Everyone that was notified showed up and it was a lot of fun. I really appreciated seeing Salad again and meeting Kako and Argent for the first time. We vowed the next one will be at a park in the area. Also, thanks again Gummi for taking the pictures and the Christmas present (jam and candy) it was all much appreciated. I can't wait for the next meeting. :)
Nice meeting HeyJude, Argent and Kako today and seeing Duke and Gummi again. Special thanks to Duke who gave me a new project in the way of an old SJ that WILL cook again. I was also the recipient of a beautiful twist pan for an 18. If only I had an 18 that was worthy. That's next on the list, for sure.
Oh and it's about 67 degrees where I am right now. Kind of odd for this time of year but I'm not complaining!
Looks like a good time, wish I could have brought my PKs out to play.

It does sound funny if you don't live here. In fact I grilled last night. This is our down season and it's usually raining at this time of year, we know Spring is just around the corner when we can wear t shirts all day rather than dress in layers. It's also a lot more enjoyable when the parks are nice and dry. We were just planning a meet up to do a few trades and not expecting such a great turnout. :)

I lived in the East Bay area for several years, and I know it gets a bit chilly. Certainly enough to make one think about waiting for warmer weather to have an outdoor gathering. If anything, I'm jealous of being able to see some green grass in January and take in all of those views.
That would have been nice to be there. Missed you all by a week. Looks like it was a great time.
