Title: My $21.00 day
Post by: glrasmussen on September 25, 2012, 08:40:03 PM
So last night I post an old Redhead. Duke says it is a Frathouse  Kettle and someone should pick it up. $5.00 I make arrangements. During the day I see another add, with a copy picture off a website and shoes a black
18", but it says brown in color. I came home tonight with to kettles.

Couldn't take it and cleaned the little guy, now need to find Mama Bear...

Ditto! I couldn't believe the flak I got for the TWO kettles I picked up earlier this summer.

hah, the 10 kettles in one day were all black.
a vacation homes place in wisconsin had a black 22 on the porch of each of their 65+ vacation homes.
Their policy on the grills changed and they had to get rid of them. They were originally selling them for 15 bucks and requiring that the buyer buy 2.

i managed to buy 10 for 5 bucks each, and then i sold the lids for 10 bucks each to a guy who makes UDSs.

I am so green to the terminology used, define for a green horn what USD is.

Greg, I think that stands for Ugly Drum Smoker, but I don't know a lot about them.  Just that a 22 lid will fit on most 55 gallon drums.

Way to maximize that purchase, Troy!  Sounds like you've got a whole bunch of bowls waiting to be turned into Kettle Chairs.  Those ought to sell for at least 20 bucks.

Noce collection! :o

I think a 22 could be turned into a nice ottoman with storage inside.

I wsih I could see the look on you wifes face.  I can hear it already,  "10 Kettles in a Subaru in 1 day, Are you trying to kill me?"

What did you do with the rest?
I think redneck fire pits is one way to deal with the leftovers..

Ted, the 26" started the Weberitis... I had two Blackies and another Blackie non operable. If it wasn't for this site, I would have two Blackies and one 26". Oh, and the dead one behind the garage. I have now become a rescue Weber guy. I will probably tone down a bit if I can fine a Gas assist Green SS, the only color my wife will allow on the deck...I miss the Blue I gifted to my son. The best part is, his buddies think it is new! It was
a "EE" Kettle.

Hey, That Frat house comment was mine... And more importantly, I stand behind that!
I'm so tired of beaters or as Brain calls them, "Rats"
Pristine Reds are so hard to find.. Everyone should jump on those whenever they can..

Sorry HeyJude! Didn't mean to offend you. It's all in fun. But it is a Frathouse Kettle. I am going to work on a little and gift it to my my friend that invites me to Deer Camp every year. He has an old Blackie, a Redhead will add to Dear Camp.

No offense talen.. When I read the comment you made.. I had to think twice, why is that familar to me? Oh yeah, I made the first "Frat House" comment..
Either way, its a perfect grill for a hunting lodge or any place that is likely going to use it for a bottle opener.
And Duke, he likes to take my comments and run with em.. Now if I can only get him to stip running with scissors!

FYI, you should see the latest Red that Duke had me pick up.. It makes yours look like a gem..
