I use Search Tempest to search CL numerous times every day.
Last week I came across a listing I knew I had to have.
For sale was a custom fabricated 24 inch wok with brackets on the bottom that allowed it to sit securely on either a 22.5 or 18.5 Weber kettle. It also came with two wok utensils.
I contacted the seller, and we spoke on Sunday. He said today or Wednesday would be good days for pickup. I told him Wednesday works for me and to e-mail me an address when he had a chance. When I asked if it was a Weber, he said it was a custom hand hammered piece.
I sent a reminder and he replied with a phone number and the actual seller (he was acting as an agent, the sellers son I think).
I called the woman On Wednesday, told her I would be there at about 4:30. She gave me the address.
Well, I showed up, had a lovely conversation with Jeanne, and she indicated she was really pissed when her husband bought it because it cost a lot of money when he did.
It looks like he used it, and I can't wait to try it myself. (Bok Choy, onions, and peppers anyone?)
I'm no wok expert, so I don't know if the wok was hand hammered, but the two tool certainly are. It fits perfectly on a Weber kettle and it is HUGE!.
Too late tonight to take decent pics, so I'll do that tomorrow when the SoDT goes to run a garage sale.
I'll post pics of the meat slicer and my new cooking area too.
WOO HOO! SCOOOOOOOOORE!
Nice! Congrats on the pickup, looking forward to seeing the pics of this!

Score. They are great fun to cook on. I have a discada I use for my wok.
Congrats! Can't wait to see pix....
"Bok Choy, onions, and peppers anyone?"
Yes.....as long as you par-freeze some suitable beef (top sirloin, tri-tip ) &/or pork loin, then slice it extra thin on your NEW SLICER !!!!
& cook it up along with the vegs......
Happy Birthday (you'll have one sooner or later !!! )
Great story there. Congrats! I am looking forward to seeing the pics, you know cause it didn't really happen without the pics.
Awesome. Can't wait to see it! I am using my hand hammered wok on my kitchen stove, and I just can't get enough heat in it. Next is on the kettle or the outdoor stove at 60,000 btu!!!
