Title: Happy birthday to me!
Post by: Bob BQ on July 30, 2013, 07:47:26 PM
Picked up this beauty tonight for $50.  She's a 1989 "L", 18.5" OTS.  Lil red is in beautiful shape... on the initial once over I did notice a slight battle-wound on the lid lip, but other than that... awesome.  You can tell it's been well cared for.  I'll get some pics tomorrow (this one is from the CL listing), and try to get her polished up a bit.  Just need to decide what the birthday meal will be!

The ad read: "These sell new for $100.00, it has no rust. always stored inside."  After confirming I'd be picking it up tonight, the seller emails me this: "If you change your mind let me know, this grill I thought would be a challenge to get rid of has a waiting list."

Cleaned her up a bit today... just a quick soap and water wash and a once over w/ some 0000 steel wool.

Did a simple cook for dinner... cheese-filled burgers and dogs.  Hate to waste a good fire, so I added some applewood sticks and threw a nekid fattie on after dinner.  Breakfast will be good tomorrow!

Also got an unexpected delivery courtesy of the wife...  winds up I get two redhead kettles for my birthday!

I've never had an OTS before, and I gotta say... I need to find the parts to turn this into an OTG!  Anyone know where I can find the ring and bucket for an 18.5?
