It's been a long time since we've had ribeyes. Even on sale, lately they've been $5-6 more than the cost of NY Strips. Well, this last week they were on sale for $13.00/lb., which is a much better price, so I pulled the trigger.
The green beans were blanched and then into an ice bath before hitting the grill.
The taters were parboiled, then smashed, seasoned, and roasted in 400ยบ.

Looks like a tasty meal! Love a good ribeye, wish I had bought the rib roasts on sale at Publix for $9.99/lb over the holidays and cut steaks. But the freezer is full already. Sides look great as well!
Cheers

Thanks ! ! !
Yeah I wish I had the room to cut a whole rib roast or strip loin. I can get by with a whole tenderloin, but who the hell can afford one of those these days ! ! !
Lovely stuff. My favourite cut of steak

Thanks, Tommie. They were tasty. But, like I said they have been pretty pricey lately.
Back in the Pre-Autopen Era, Ribeyes and NY Strips usually went on sale at the same price point, usually about $8.00 a pound. Now, at least locally, Strips are on sale for about $4-5.00 cheaper than Ribeyes.
Just decided it was time to bite the bullet . . .
pricey here too, best value and decently sized steaks over here is Costco... and even there 3.5lbs (pack of 4 ribeye) is around $85. Luckily for me I'm only one in my family that likes steak

Don't I know it. But, I'd been traveling and been up to my daughter's for a couple of weeks, and they were on somewhat of a sale at Publix, and I found 3 really nice looking steak in the same pack . . .
Kismet ! ! !
Looks great. New York strips is all I've been getting lately for the same reason.
