Title: Red Kettles
Post by: mikeb on June 26, 2024, 07:31:43 AM
I sold my Kamado Joes as my new house porch configuration just didn't mesh with them and got back into Kettles.  I miss the red color, how often does Weber release reds (not Crimson)?  Am I better off just checking FB Market Place for a used one?

The last 22" red kettles made were in 2017 I believe.... Coated in china according to research.  I have a few.  Some say they're cheaply made and defective.  The one I use has many porcelain pops due to kettle pizza duty (banking coals) and high temp vortex cooks.  You can seek out one of those, or better yet a more vintage model that seem to have a better quality finish.  Don't see them often, but I've found quite a few over the past five years.  Gotta watch and act fast....

Vintage is what you seek, they get darker when they get hot!
