Title: One Touch Platinum Mod
Post by: FlashHokie on July 18, 2022, 07:41:38 PM
Saw this OTP cart for sale on CL. Seller claims a 26" kettle will fit the table. Anyone ever tried this? I'm interested but don't have one currently to try it out. Also how does the kettle mount to the OTP? Thanks in advance.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220719/8e5d275d2ce5ba448f32ab3dc60ea649.jpg)

That's for a 22" kettle. The kettle mounts on the two smaller rods that go front to rear. It seems to be missing the lid bale on the back of the cart. It's a completely different animal than any other kettle. I have one if you need pics.

I've seen these used for custom 26 set ups too.

@29tx shared this post with me a couple of months ago when I asked about it. I have the ingredients, just need the time!

I'm going to get it this weekend and think about what I want to do with it.

What a timely thread.
I "JUST" registered and am going to restore my one touch platinum as well.
My side tables are atrociously stained from grease and dirt/debris.
I saw another thread where they sanded with 150 grit the 0000 Steel wool followed up with sealing the tables with 303 marine protectant.
I order two new side tables anyway.
For what I paid for the replacement side tables I would probably have been better off just to purchase a brand new Weber Performer, but I'm in love with Nostalgia.
I am curious if anyone has any other ideas to seal and protect the tables from grease and dirt.
