Neat. They are probably just looking to formalize the division that makes strategic investments, partnerships and acquisitions for Weber. This stuff costs money so from an accounting perspective its better to keep those expenditures separate from other regular short term business expenses.
I saw the announcement on LinkedIn last week, didn't have much info about it there.
