Funny you should mention this.

I started my next table yesterday.  This was my first:

I don't have the tools to properly build one of my own, So I bought this one:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009OJBI22/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I tore it apart so I could finish the wood and reattach the boards with real hardware. I also had to re-form the clips that hook on the kettle so the lid fit decently.

But it's a functional unit for the price. Even if the rest of it sucks, I have the leg assembly to make my own!

G$, I love that table.

Yep, Hogsy's table is the one I modeled mine off of for dimensions and inspiration.

I see these and think "damn I could make that!" Then remember I'm not a good woodworker.. Some great tables there.

Thanks Joel. Here's a couple more I have made.

This is just a 'hang-on' that I built for my brother.

This is the first incarnation of my Weber trolley. This came about after I realised that I was always setting up a table next to me when I'm cooking. So I figured it would be handy to have the kettle mounted into a work area, as well as having it up at a more comfortable height. And off course I then realised I needed more cooking area for when the whole family is over, therefore the twin table.

G$,
Nice looking Table there, I will have to consider building something like this..

My Mini WSM sits on an IKEA SKOGHAL side table for $14.99, I added a Weber tool holder and I plan on staining & adding a protective varnish. It is very stable & perfect for my Mini.
I was also considering getting IKEA Applaro wheeled outdoor wooden serving cart (http://"http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00208533/")  It has a shelf on bottom to store grill tools, hooks to hang tools or lid, and even a place to put paper towels. looks perfect for the mini smoker set up.

Welcome Anderson, for posting pics, maybe this will help?...

For reference, the line in your post will look similar to this line...

After clicking the Insert Image link, just paste your image link from Photobucket (or where ever) in between the two 'img' tags.

How is the kettle attached to the table? Strapped down by the handles?
Title: Re: Weber Table Mods
Post by: anderson143 on July 21, 2013, 09:10:43 AM
the handles are just sitting on the wood keeping it from falling threw the hole....I want to get some conduit legs and some shower caps for the ends to get the kettle off the table about a inch so when I use my clamps(during smoking)the table top doesn't get in the way ....I think it would stabilize the grill alittle better putting it back on legs also

Nice table Anderson, I like the added shelf above for rubs & foil. Nice Job!

I would be concerned the weight/stress on the handles would cause wear and tear over time...

They are little metal hooks that I found at the hardware store. I think they are used for hanging pictures and shit.

I'll try and get a picture of the clip nefore I fitted them, and the packaging they came in.

Sent from another planet using Mental Telepathy.

No need for another picture.  That makes complete sense...   What kind of wood is that?   It looks like TEAK?  If so, that table would cost a MINT to make here!

Again, great job!

That particular one is made of Merbau which is a hardwood used for decking. The big table is made of yellow Balau which won't leech tanines like the Merbau will.

Very nice table.  It would be perfect if that green G was covered by a Blue and Orange Bronco.  8)
