Picked up a newer kettle for free because
the legs were bent
handle was broken
and it had a chip/dent that happened when it got the handle and legs got smashed. (bowl and lid in great shape tho)
Shortly after acquiring the broken freebie my daughter's friend's parents mentioned they wanted to pickup a small charcoal Grill. (we know they meant a Weber)
Used some older legs drilled out the chip/Dent and added a thermometer. Finally used some steel bar stock and caliper paint to make a new handle. Cost about $15 total and I have enough steel for 4+ handles.
I was just putting together a good cooker for free for friends and ended up with a way to #untaco the newer kettles for cheap.
Now to obsess and make some more for no reason just cause I have the stuff and this one could be straighter with less marks on the metal.

Nice work !
Thanks guys, I like the soft rounded bends but would have liked them more symmetrical. Then I need to make a couple that are actually straight like the old handles.
