Title: Removing rust
Post by: DaGoomba on June 10, 2013, 06:32:06 PM
Being a noob at restoring grills, I have heard soaking rusted metal parts in distilled vinegar is great at removing the rust and is obviously a lot safer than acids etc.

What do you seasoned vets use for salvageable rusted metal parts, hardware etc?

Thanks for any sage advise  :D

There's a tread on here where Duke soaks in vinegar and baking soda, I'll try to find the link

I think O'Reilly Auto Parts, Auto zone or Lowes might carry it...
