Ran across a blue Gen 1 performer for sale. I know I shouldn't be buying myself gifts right before xmas...well I have a buddy that was a roommate for about 15 years and we have small xmas parties and exchange gifts with our respective families after all the other parties. Long story shorter and I text him and he hadn't got me anything so I picked him up so he can buy me the grill. :D ;) ::)

That is a classic! Have fun with the restoration. I have a spare bottom wire shelf if you need it.

Congrats on great grill!
NICE. I have a red SSP, which is what I usually cook on.
It was in great shape having sat inside a business for quite a few years unused & before that the business owner lived in a airplane hanger & allegedly kept it inside when not in use. There was a bit of dust on in, plenty of spent ash inside & a buildup of grime inside. But really in sweet shape. I'd kind of like another SSP in another color, but they take up quite a bit of real estate.
Very cool!!

I would love to add a red mist ssp to the collection but I keep missing those. You are right on the real estate. I have started leaving some of the less charished grills at my families houses to make room and so I have a cooker no matter who's house we are at.
Rust on the pan handle was pretty deep but it's still strong. Only thing missing was a 5lbs tank I will probably just put a new regulator on it anyway. Got the all thread in the support and have it loosely on there now. I will need you strip and paint the frame this spring so not going to tighten it all down too much.

Ha! I was MartyG then. So many old friends when the WCK was young. So many new friends now. New faces, but the same old WKC shines on.
That's awesome I hadn't even seen that post yet. Pretty new on here still.
Awesome list!
For what it is worth, a blue SSP would be high on my list for other colors.

Done with the once over.
Roughed up the rust spots on the frame.
Cleaned the bowl and was surprised by how much scoring there was from the one touch system.
Straighten the retainer ring and sanded down the handle on the ash pan.
Rough buff on the blue.
Cleaned out the burner and ignitor. They work but need replaced.
Will need to fully sand the frame and repaint.
Finish the inside and outside of the kettle itself.
Replace the burner tube and either find a 5lb tank or get a new reg hose.
