The 22.5 "Original Kettle" aka One Touch Silver was $79.99 in 2000, bumped up to $89 in 2002 and finally $99 by 2005ish so I guess 13 or so years isn't a bad run at $100. I saw somewhere early this past year where the MSRP for a 26er was already at $330. Guess it's true now.

Saw a black performer deluxe at my HD yesterday marked down from $349.00 to $225.00 I think. Was tempting. I only have an old 1979 very used 22.5 right now.

I purchased 1 new Copper OTG at a silent auction for charity. Thats the ONLY one I paid near retail for. My LE RED came off a CL buy for 80 bucks. NIB... SO I guess.. yeah that would be 2 "New". None Retail tho....

I paid full or sale price for all my 22"s... blue Performer, Copper top kettle, and Crimson kettle, and my li'l black 18" kettle. I bought a used 18" greenie from Charlie at a grate price... that one has become our cottage vacation kettle.

My 26 and 22 were purchased full retail. I don't regret either one! There's something to be said for having the satisfaction that every bit of wear and tear were caused by you using and enjoying your kettles.

My 22 MT was a gift from my wife...she bought it new. I don't think any of us like it when the price goes up on stuff we like. But...given the quality of the grill, I can live with a little price bump. If you take care of a new kettle, it'll last a looooooooong time, so the extra $20-40 in the long run probably isn't the end of the world.
