Hello everyone. My first post on here. I have a 22" Kettle and would like to make a modification to the top vent handle. No rubber or wooden part attacehd to the vent so it's all metal and gets hot very wuickly so have to hit it with tongs instead of being able to move it with my hand. Any ideas to help out? Hate smacking my grill lid to close the vent!
Simple. Add a wood or rubber handle to the tab. 8)

You can do this-

Sweet! Thank you all!
I used porcelain knobs from dresser draws. It is mounted to a screw with 2 nuts to hold in place. Porcelain absorbs most of the heat.

Yes. Any "standard width" lid vent tab, which is pretty much anything that's not vintage small-tab OR 14/18 WSM or GA.
