I purchased a used late 90's 22.5" kettle from craigslist and am really trying to give it a thorough deep clean. Where the blades of the one touch cleaning system touch the kettle bottom there are a lot of scratches and scuffs from ash residue. Is there any product that would help to buff the lines and scrapes out, or is this just normal wear?

Normal wear when ash sweeps are a real tight fit to the bowl. You can take out the sweeps and slightly bend and play with them until the blades are not scraping so tightly.
If it's a cooker don't worry about it, clean it out to the best of your ability. If it's a looker try some of the automotive products. Case closed.

The sweeps and the ash cannot wear down the bowl surface. It's porcelain enamel. You're seeing ash and grease build up that's getting scrapes in it. Soaking in soap + a razor blade will get it. Eventually that build up will force the sweeps to ride up on top enough so that they can no longer close off the air supply when done cooking.
A brush to sweep out the bowl of fresh ash helps. A 1" plastic putty knife will help also, for daily cleanup.
