Title: Registering a Statesman on Weber.com
Post by: Schaefd2 on March 13, 2018, 05:38:37 AM
Have any of you been able to register an older grill at Weber.com? I even asked Weber support and they informed me that since the grill is older than their registration system, I wouldn't be able to register it.

What is the point of registering something like that?  Isn't that process only for grills actually still under warranty?

I suppose you'd be correct. I haven't thought of it that way; I was just focused on getting all of my grills listed.

What would be the benefit of that?
You want them listed?
Write them down and stick it on the fridge.

The advantage to registering older grills would be purchasing possible replacement parts in the future if they are still available directly from Weber.

They limit parts only for registered grills.   Others here have had luck registering older Weber products directly with CS.

Not to mention that when Weber sees you have 10 grills and most are older than the rep your talking to it gets some brownie points. Thanks for being a Weber fan, here's a discount on some new parts.....

I registered a NOS pre-2000 GGA....the CSR did it for me over the phone....and she actually put a warranty on it.  Go figure.

OK.  I take back my smart ass response. :-[
I can now see that there are many compelling reasons
to register older "Seasoned" cookers.

This lunkhead learned something new today. ;)

I emailed them back, linked them to this thread and asked if they were sure there was nothing they could do. They said that it would have to be registered as a Bar-B-Kettle instead of a Statesman. To me, that was obvious, but oh well.

I am just glad it got registered. They even marked it down with a purchase date in 1968! They also said that they made a note on my account that it is actually a Statesman. Good enough for me.

There is a thread somewhere on here where someone posted a pic they received from a Weber representative that showed all their registered grills. They had old grills on the list also and, if memory serves me right, the list had the actual names of the grills but only Weber people can see it. our lists we see when signed into Weber are different

I've heard of Weber sending out surprises to people who have their grills registered, but I've never experienced it.

...until today!

I received a Weber tongs and spatula set by surprise today! It is perfect timing too since my 12 year old tongs have been hardly functional since last summer and my spatula (same age) broke a few weeks ago. These peeps at Weber are awesome!

...so I suggest getting your cookers registered!
