An 18in kettle with some pretty cool features like the GBS, a new lid bale system and a new ash catcher bowl.

First Euro product I'm not sweating. Dog bowl ash catcher, taco handle, goofy red foot. 150 euros? Hard pass
Is that some kind of a cruel joke Weber is trying to play on their Euro customers? It's the same price (L169) as the 22" they show, which basically gets you a therm and some funky red accents. I'm guessing the vast majority of European customers aren't really dumb enough to fall for that. Right???
For awhile there, I thought this post was going to be about Weber coming out with an 18" version of the Weber Summit and I was going to have to go all "benjamin crazy" at my local Weber retailer. :o
"ATTRACT ATTENTION" , with a kettle THAT ugly, You definitely will!!!
No way man. Their demographic here is too cheap. A small kettle with midrange features at that price point will get laughed out the door.
I'd love to have the 18 GBS, and the new lid bale/slide aside. I'm curious about the ash pan... I think a deeper ash pan makes more sense than the current frisbee. And I love the Euro charcoal grates.
I'm also thinking those look like 8" wheels. If that's the case, we've got a taller 18, ala modern MT.
Yeah... I think I'd like a Kettle Plus.

I would only want the grate

I can do without all the red accents, butt really want that GBS cooking grate. And what is the purpose of the weird-assed charcoal grate?

Just what I was thinking. I wish we could still get them.
There's definitely things I don't like, like the red accents and the wheels but I'd love the charcoal grate, 18 GBS grate, and the deeper ash pan just makes more sense than the plate we currently have

Im guessing for lighting charcoal. Weber once had a similiar grate that you could put lighter cubes in.
Can't remeber if it was a SJ or a regualr 22..
Probably for that same purpose.

Yes.

I would like a 26'r like that.
No thanks! I will pass. IMO, even that neat GBS cooking grate on 18" is kind of useless. Much more useful on 22" kettles.
i like em offer them in colours put a ash bucket on them drop the price and dump em in north america i'd be in
If the Kettle Plus GBS 47cm does happen to make it to America, all it is really, is just a Weber 18.5 inch Master Touch, without the char-baskets and warming rack. I'm for it! I doubt we would ever see the Kettle Plus in America, though.
I'll take one 8)
I will say that I am intrigued by the red wheel covers with the black bowl/lid. Kind of a callback to the 1956 era kettles. I'd love to do those on a black Master Touch or better yet, a 26er.
In a word, NO.
While Weber makes all this interesting (in the eye of the beholder) stuff and stores it in their warehouses and has a website where you can order direct, they consistently refuse to make that kind of stuff available to the US market . . . when it would cost them NOTHING to give us access to it.
Fortunately, their warranty and customer service is pretty d@mn good.

I have a mid 90's red MT with that style of charcoal grate. That's what I thought the indentation was for as well. Put your lighter cube(s) in there, and put your charcoal or chimney over it.
We have it in every store!
It's not that ugly but it's more a toy than a serious grill.
Expensive ? Yes.
But we have to pay 430$ for the 22"red ltd. edition so what is expensive?
The Plus is more or less sold as a designer product than a grill.

I like the charcoal grate. I wish I had that on the 22 inch. Otherwise it looks like another red hustle by weber. We can call it the "euro kettle", with the bird bath ash bowl.
I have a Euro Gray SJ... the charcoal grate on it has quite a few more bars on it than the US charcoal grate... as a result, they are spaced closer together... meaning those smaller bits of charcoal don't necessarily fall through. It looks like this 18 has the same.
Will America get the kettle plus? Simple answer is no. Same reason that America didn't get the coloured mastertouch grills. Weber figured out that they will not sell there.
