Did a first time brisket for Christmas. Went 13hrs on a full load of charcoal but could have went a little longer. Had some 12mph winds switching directions all day also.

It's expanded metal from Lowe's. https://m.lowes.com/pd/Hillman-12-in-x-2-ft-Cold-Rolled-Weldable-Steel-Expanded-Sheet/3051815

Went ahead and made a 55 gallon drum work.

Have you cooked on it yet? I want to hear how well it works.

I cooked a brisket, spare ribs, and beef ribs on the first version and besides my short falls being a new smoker it worked great. I cooked a pork butt Sunday with the new 55 gallon drum version and it worked great also. The biggest issue so far is just making sure everything is sealed as good as it can be. Seems Everytime I smoke meat the wind is at 15mph or higher lol.
