Title: 1st colored Weber - Blue SSP
Post by: LPcreation on June 13, 2017, 05:45:06 PM
I've been looking for colored kettles for over a year and have driven to different states to grab different kettles.  I always miss out on colored ones and I totally lucked out and found a blue SSP performer for $40 about 15 minutes away!

Sadly, it was pretty trashed.  The bottom bowl rusted through in 3 different spots and the lid is missing the thermometer.  On the plus side, it included those old school charcoal baskets that seem like they're welded together.

I'm not sure what to do.  I have a black SSP performer and I thought about making a frankenstein, but I feel like there's something better I can do.

I'll try to get some pictures up tomorrow.

Oh - and the new performer isn't even a gas assist.  I didn't know they made non gas assist SSP'ers, but I'm relatively new to this game.

Nice score. I just picked up a non assist SSP this weekend as well.

Nice pickup.👍I prefer the non assisted in the Gen 1 SSP. I think the gas assist adds too much weight. I use a Weber starting can and cubes.
