Title: Propane adapter for SSP
Post by: Raindog on June 13, 2017, 03:24:09 PM
Finally picked up tank for my SSP at Ace Hardware with their 25% off coupon. It looks like I still need an adapter to complete. In the SSP manual it lists a part as "filler adapter". Is this what I need to complete connection? I'm guessing it may be quick connect? Attaching photo of where I need adapter. Any help appreciated...

Yep, you need a quick connect kit.

You can get one of these to adapt

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000AMAVAM/ref=mp_s_a_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1497397559&sr=8-10&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=propane+quick+connect+fittings

Or just get new connector to screw into your regulator and take out that quick coupler nipple

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MZ8PRMP/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1497397832&sr=8-1-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=propane+fittings&psc=1

Although I actually prefer all metal like the one below I've had the plastic handles break before just use some pipe dope on the 1/4" threads when you screw the new connector in

Thanks MR.CPHo

I ran into some other things needing my attention and haven't completed the rehab on the SSP. When I do I'll add pictures and thank you again properly for sending me the charcoal bin I was missing.

Thanks so much for the info.  Saves me a lot of time trying to sort out what I needed. Never been much of a gassser but I'm learning...

You bet I would unscrew the quick conect nipple and install the $7 tank connector I posted the picture of it will save you an extra Conection and potential for a leak and it's a cheaper way to go
