It finally arrived just now. Heard a thud at my door and saw Fedex truck driving away. Sure enough it is my sample.....can't wait to try them. Now have to decide what meal would be best to use them

I saw that too....in my store they wont sell the sample. You get it if you buy a grill. So how can you promote coal sales without selling sample bags for a minimal price.
It's not the best smelling when first lit. I lit the whole sample bag in a chimney and it smoked like crazy. The smoke smells like a grass fire. I heard my neighbor come outside and say it smells like a fire and go back inside. They are really dense though, so a full chimney was a bit too much fuel.
That is interesting info. The whole point is to see if they are worth the money. Does it leave any odor on the food?

Close second to Stubbs as my favorite briquette.
It is fantastic charcoal imo.

It's the best charcoal I've used, but so overpriced I won't buy it. The bricks seem bigger, burn as cleanly as Stubbs, and leave less ash than KBB.
How do you go about getting the sample?

It was a promotional thing. Weber sent emails to folks and if you responded you got a sample by mail.

No odor. They lasted long and burned really hot. It was just the initial smoke smelled worse than kbb or RO in my opinion.
I haven't used mine yet. Hubby has been sick, so I held off making his special FD meal. Do the Weber coals take longer to ignite?
I never received an email from Weber about these. I have several grills registered with them and I believe they have my email, but I haven't ever received promos or offers from them. I finally went to the website and created a "Weber ID" account. They have most of my grills on file (and a few I don't have), so they have known I exist. Maybe I'll start getting emails now?
Dont be mad I'm sure all the picks were random, if it makes you feel better they never contacted me either

You can buy a 20lb bag on Weber.com. $25 seems a bit pricy?

STILL not in the UK :(
They burn good but put off a weird smell like I've been smoking cigarettes. Wife doesn't like the smell so that's a no go.
